Overview
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through Mullan Marketplace, operated by Mullan Lighting, Ireland.
Mullan Marketplace offers a curated selection of overstock, discontinued, sample, second-grade, and imperfect lighting products at reduced prices. These products differ from the made-to-order lighting available through the main Mullan Lighting website.
By placing an order through Mullan Marketplace, you agree to the Terms & Conditions outlined below.
Product Terms
Mullan Marketplace sells overstock, discontinued, sample, second-grade, and imperfect lighting products at reduced prices. Many items are sold in limited quantities and may show cosmetic imperfections or finish variations which are reflected in the listed price.
We may make minor product improvements over time. Where applicable, product images and descriptions are provided in good faith; however, slight variations can occur due to the nature of handcrafted production, lighting conditions, and finishing processes.
If you believe your item has an issue beyond what was disclosed on the product listing or falls outside the acceptable ranges set out below, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
Colour Variation and Patina Characteristics
Our products include finishes and components that may naturally vary. Differential patination and naturally occurring variation in materials can cause slight differences in colour and shade between components. As a result, we cannot guarantee that every piece will be an exact colour match. These variations are generally considered part of the character of handcrafted products.
Products with antiqued finishes may change tone naturally over time depending on their environment.
Product photography is typically captured under warm white light, which reflects a common installed environment.
Antique Brass Finish
Antique brass is a hand-finished surface and natural variation is an inherent characteristic of the finish. As a result, tone and depth may vary slightly between pieces.
Lighting conditions can also significantly influence how the finish appears. The same Antique brass finish may appear lighter or darker depending on whether it is viewed in direct sunlight, overcast daylight, or interior lighting.
The images below illustrate examples of typical tonal variation within the Antique brass finish

Antique Silver Finish
Antique silver is a hand-applied finish and may display natural variation in tone, patina, and surface character. Subtle differences in shading, texture, and depth of colour can occur from one piece to another as part of the finishing process.
As a result, each item may have a slightly unique appearance. These variations are an inherent characteristic of an antiqued finish and form part of the intended aesthetic of the product.
Lighting conditions and the surrounding environment may also influence how the finish appears when viewed.
The image below illustrates examples of the range of tones and variations that may occur within the Antique silver finish.
Natural Brass Finish
Natural brass is an unlacquered, hand-polished finish and will naturally darken and develop a patina over time.
The rate and extent of this ageing process will vary depending on environmental conditions. In dry indoor environments, the finish may deepen gradually and subtly. In bathrooms, kitchens, humid spaces, or outdoor settings, exposure to moisture, salt air, and temperature changes may accelerate the patination process.
As natural brass is not coated with a protective lacquer, variation in tone and ageing is inherent to the material and is not considered a defect.
If desired, the original polished appearance may be restored using a non-abrasive brass polish and a soft cloth.

Acceptable Product Conditions

-
Minor surface marks, scuffs, or small scratches

Slight tonal differences between components

If an item arrives with additional damage caused in transit, please notify us promptly (and within 24 hours where possible) so we can assist.
Glass Quality Standards (Handmade Glass)
Many glass shades are handmade. While our suppliers apply quality requirements before goods are released, handmade glass can include markings and inconsistencies that are considered acceptable within production standards.
The table below outlines common concerns in handmade glass and the bounds of what is deemed acceptable or unacceptable:
| Issue | Acceptable if… |
|---|---|
| Air bubbles | Less than 4mm in diameter and no more than four present per 10 cm² area |
| Lack of symmetry / oval shape | Overall symmetry and balance of the light fixture is not adversely affected |
| Neck not level | Angle of glass around neck is less than 5° |
| Chips on edges | Around the neck to any depth and around other edges up to a depth of 2mm |
| Scratches and cracks | No weakness introduced to the glass and not noticeable from a distance up to 1 metre |
| Smudges and trails | Not noticeable from a distance up to 1 metre |
| Thickness of walls | Thickness varies less than 4mm |
| Glass scarring | No weakness introduced and not noticeable from a distance up to 1 metre |
| Mould imprint marks | Inherent to manufacturing and not noticeable from a distance up to 1 metre |
If you believe glass quality falls outside these bounds or outside what was disclosed on the product listing, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.

Ceramic Quality Standards (Handcrafted Ceramics)
Ceramic components are individually handcrafted and may exhibit natural variations in surface texture, glaze finish, and tonal consistency. These variations are inherent to artisanal production.
We do not warrant exact uniformity between ceramic components, whether within a single product or across multiple items.
The information below sets out acceptable variation under our quality control practices:
|
Slight colour tone differences Differences do not compromise the aesthetic or intended appearance Example of acceptable colour variation:
|
|
Surface texture variation Changes are minimal and do not affect product integrity Examples of surface texture variation:
|
|
Minor glaze imperfections Small marks or pinholes are not visible from a distance greater than 1 metre. Example of minor glaze imperfection:

|
Hairline surface cracks (non-structural) Does not affect integrity or usability of the product Example of hairline surface cracks:

Dimensional differences Within ±3mm (small ceramic items) or ±5mm (large ceramic items) of the specified dimensions |
Any issues outside these examples may be subject to review. Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery if you believe the products fall outside the acceptable range or outside what was disclosed on the product listing.
